The Prophet's Time Spent in Mecca and Medina

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) spent a total of twenty years in Mecca and Medina, with the Qur'an being revealed to him during his time in Mecca.

Narrated Aisha and Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet stayed for ten years in Mecca with the Qur'an being revealed to him and he stayed in Medina for ten years'.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، وَابْنِ، عَبَّاسٍ رضى الله عنهم أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ لَبِثَ بِمَكَّةَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ يُنْزَلُ عَلَيْهِ الْقُرْآنُ، وَبِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرًا‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
According to this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ spent a total of twenty years between his time in Mecca and Medina. During his time in Mecca, the Qur'an was revealed to him by Allah. This hadith highlights the importance of spending time both for spiritual growth as well as for learning new things. It also shows us that even though it may take some time, we should never give up on our goals or dreams because eventually they will come true if we stay focused and dedicated.
