The Passing of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) passed away at the age of sixty-three.

Narrated 'Aisha: Allah 's Apostle died when he was sixty-three years of age.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ تُوُفِّيَ وَهْوَ ابْنُ ثَلاَثٍ وَسِتِّينَ‏.‏ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ وَأَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ مِثْلَهُ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the passing of the beloved prophet and messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). He passed away at the age of sixty-three in 632 CE. This hadith serves as a reminder to us that all things are temporary and that we should strive to make our lives meaningful by following in his footsteps and living according to his teachings. It also reminds us that death is inevitable for everyone and it is important for us to be prepared for it by doing good deeds throughout our lives so we can meet Allah with a clean heart on Judgement Day.
