Haircutting During Hajjat-ul-Wada'

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions got their heads shaved or cut short during Hajjat-ul-Wada'.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: During Hajjat-ul-Wada', the Prophet and some of his companions got their heads shaved while some of his companions got their head-hair cut short.
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَخْبَرَهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ حَلَقَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ وَأُنَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ وَقَصَّرَ بَعْضُهُمْ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the practice of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions during the last pilgrimage, known as Hajjat ul Wada'. During this pilgrimage, some of them got their heads shaved while others got their hair cut short. This shows that it is permissible to do either one when performing a pilgrimage. It also teaches us that we should follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet ﷺ and strive to emulate him in all aspects of life. Furthermore, it reminds us that we should always be mindful of our actions and strive to do what is right according to Islamic teachings.
