Sahih al-Bukhari 4366 (Book 64, Hadith 392) #4165
Praising the Banu Tamim Tribe

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) praised the Banu Tamim tribe for their strength in opposing Dajjal, their lineage from Ishmael, and their payment of Zakat.

Narrated Abu Huraira: I have not ceased to like Banu Tamim ever since I heard of three qualities attributed to them by Allah's Messenger (He said): They, out of all my followers, will be the strongest opponent of Ad-Dajjal; 'Aisha had a slave-girl from them, and the Prophet told her to manumit her as she was from the descendants of (the Prophet) Ishmael; and, when their Zakat was brought, the Prophet said, "This is the Zakat of my people".

QUICK LESSONS:
Paying zakat on time .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ praised the Banu Tamim tribe for three qualities. Firstly, he said that they would be the strongest opponents of Ad-Dajjal. Secondly, he mentioned that Aisha had a slave-girl from them and told her to manumit her as she was from the descendants of Ishmael. Lastly, when their Zakat was brought to him he said “This is the Zakat of my people”. This hadith shows us how much respect and admiration Prophet Muhammad ﷺ had for this particular tribe and how important it is to pay our zakat on time as it is an obligation upon us all as Muslims. It also teaches us about our lineage and how we are all connected through our ancestors which should bring us closer together rather than divide us apart.
