The Foundation of Faith: Sincerity

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) taught that sincerity is the foundation of faith and should be applied to Allah, His Book, His Messenger, and the leaders of Muslims.

Tamim bin Aus Ad-Dari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet said, "Ad-Deen is sincerity". We said: "For whom?" He replied, "For Allah, His Book, His Messenger and for the leaders of the Muslims and their masses". Muslim.
فالأول‏:‏ عن أبي رقية تميم بن أوس الداري رضي الله عنه أن النبي قال‏:‏ ‏ "‏ الدين النصيحة‏"‏ قلنا‏:‏ لمن‏؟‏ قال‏:‏ لله ولكتابه ولرسوله ولأئمة المسلمين وعامتهم ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

This hadith teaches us that sincerity is the foundation of faith. It should be applied to all aspects of our lives including our relationship with Allah, His book which is the Quran, His messenger which is Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , and also to the leaders of Muslims and their masses. We must strive to be sincere in all our actions so that we can please Allah and gain rewards in this life as well as in the hereafter. We must remember that sincerity will bring us closer to Allah and help us stay on track with our faith journey.
