The Benefits of Praying Salah

SUMMARY: Performing Salah often will raise one's position and remit their sins.

Thauban (May Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard Messenger of Allah saying, "Perform Salah more often. For every prostration that you perform before Allah will raise your position one degree and will remit one of your sins". Muslim.
الثالث عشر‏:‏ عن أبي عبد الله- ويقال‏:‏ أبو عبد الرحمن- ثوبان مولى رسول الله قال‏:‏ سمعت رسول الله يقول‏:‏ ‏ "‏ عليك بكثرة السجود، فإنك لن تسجد لله سجدة إلا رفعك الله بها درجة، وحط عنك بها خطيئة‏"‏‏.‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

This hadith is about the importance of prayer in Islam. It teaches us that if we perform salaah regularly, Allah will reward us by raising our status and forgiving our sins. This is a great incentive to pray regularly as it can help us to become closer to Allah and lead a better life on earth as well as in the hereafter. Additionally, this hadith also encourages us to repent for our sins so that we can be forgiven by Allah and start anew with a clean slate.
