Excess of Women and Scarcity of Men

SUMMARY: This hadith speaks of a time in the future when there will be an excess of women and scarcity of men, leading to one man being followed by forty women.

Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet said, "A time will come when a man will go about with alms from his gold and will not find anyone to receive it. One man will be seen being followed by forty women dependent upon him on account of the scarcity of men and excess of women". Muslim.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about a time in the future known as Qiyaamah, or the Day of Judgment. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that during this time, people will go around giving alms from their gold but no one will accept it due to the scarcity of men and excess of women. This means that there will be more women than men at this point in time, leading to one man being followed by forty women who are dependent on him for support. This hadith serves as a reminder for us to always strive towards good deeds such as giving Sadaqah or charity from our Dhahab or gold so that we can benefit from it even if it is not accepted during this period due to the Qillat or scarcity.
