Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah sent an expedition to Banu Lahyan and said, "One man from every two should join the fighting force, and the reward will be shared amongst them equally". Muslim. Another narration in Muslim is: The Messenger of Allah said, "Let one of every two men go forth", and added: "Whoever stays behind (and looks well after the family and the property of those who have joined the expedition) will get half the reward of the warrior".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's instructions for an expedition to Banu Lahyan. He instructed that one man from every two should join the fighting force, and those who stayed behind would receive half the reward of those who went. This teaches us that it is important to share rewards equally among all members of a group, regardless of whether they are actively participating or not. It also shows us how generous and fair minded our beloved Prophet was in his dealings with others. He wanted everyone to benefit from their efforts, even if they were not directly involved in them. Furthermore, this hadith encourages us to look after our families and property while we are away on expeditions or other activities so that we can still reap some benefit even if we cannot participate directly in them ourselves.
