The Benefits of Praying Four Rak'ah Before 'Asr Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) encouraged people to perform four Rak'ah before the 'Asr prayer.

Ibn 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Prophet said, "May Allah have mercy on a man who performs four Rak'ah before the 'Asr prayer". Abu Dawud and At- Tirmidhi.
وعن ابن عمر، رضي الله عنهما، عن النبي ، قال‏:‏ ‏ "‏رحم الله امرءًا صلى قبل العصر أربعًا‏"‏‏.‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه أبو داود والترمذي وقال‏:‏ حديث حسن‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith encourages Muslims to pray four rak’ahs before the ‘asr prayer. It is a sunnah, or an action that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ did and encouraged others to do, which is why it is important for Muslims to follow this practice. By doing so, they will receive mercy from Allah and be rewarded for their good deeds. This hadith also teaches us that we should always strive to do good deeds in order to please Allah and gain His mercy. Additionally, it reminds us of the importance of following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in our daily lives as Muslims.
