Riyad as-Salihin 1086 (Book 8, Hadith 96) #37575
Keeping Rows Straight During Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised his followers to keep their rows straight and orderly during prayer, and to have the more mature and prudent people stand closer to him.

Abu Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah used to gently pat our shoulders when we were standing in rows at the time of Salat and say, "Keep (the rows) straight; do not differ from each other lest your hearts should suffer from discord. Let those of you who are mature and prudent be nearer to me, and then those who are next to them". Muslim.

QUICK LESSONS:
Keep your rows straight while praying; Be respectful; Be mature & prudent; Focus on Allah's worship.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith of Abu Mas'ud speaks about the importance of keeping one's rows straight when praying. This is a reminder for Muslims that they should maintain orderliness in their prayers so that their hearts remain free from discord. The Prophet Muhammad also advised that those who are more mature and prudent should stand closer to him in the row. This is an important lesson for all Muslims as it teaches us how we should conduct ourselves during prayer - with respect and orderliness - so that our hearts remain focused on Allah's worship instead of being distracted by any form of discord or disagreement among ourselves.
