Seeking Forgiveness and Mercy from Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) was asking Allah for forgiveness, mercy and to join the exalted companions.

'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: While the Prophet was reclining against me (during his last illness) I heard him saying: "Allahumma-ghfir li, warhamni, wa alhiqni bir Rafiqil-A'la (O Allah, forgive me, bestow Your Mercy on me and let me join with the exalted companions'.' Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
عن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت‏:‏ سمعت النبي الله عليه وسلم الله عليه وسلم وهو مستند إلي يقول‏:‏ اللهم اغفر لي وارحمني وألحقني بالرفيق الأعلى‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is asking Allah for forgiveness, mercy and to join the exalted companions. This hadith teaches us that we should always seek forgiveness from Allah and ask Him for His mercy. It also reminds us of how important it is to strive to be among those who are close to Him in Paradise. We can learn from this hadith that if we sincerely repent our sins and ask for His forgiveness, He will forgive us no matter how great our sins may be. Additionally, it encourages us to strive towards being among those who are close to Him in Paradise by doing good deeds throughout our lives.
