Accountability for Inviting People to Misguidance and Guidance

SUMMARY: Every person who calls people to misguidance or guidance will be held accountable for the actions of those who follow them.

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that: The Messenger of Allah said: "Every caller who invites people to misguidance and is followed, will have a burden of sin equal to that of those who follow him, without that detracting from their burden in the slightest. And every caller who invites people to true guidance and is followed, will have a reward equal to that of those who follow him, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about accountability and responsibility. It teaches us that when we invite people to misguidance or guidance, we will be held accountable for the actions of those who follow us. If someone follows our invitation to misguidance, then we will have a burden of sin equal to that person's burden without detracting from their own burden in any way. Similarly, if someone follows our invitation towards true guidance, then we will receive a reward equal to that person's reward without detracting from their own reward in any way. This hadith emphasizes the importance of being careful with what kind of messages and invitations we are sending out into the world as it can have serious consequences on both ourselves and others.
