The Evil of Two-Faced People

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the evil of two-faced people who show different faces to different people.

Malik related to me from Abu'z-Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "One of the most evil of people is the two-faced person who shows one face to these people and another face to those people".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be honest with everyone you meet regardless of your relationship or how they treat you.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith warns us against the evil of two faced people. A two faced person is someone who shows one face to some people and another face to other people. They are deceitful and hypocritical in their behavior. Such a person is considered one of the most evil types of people according to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. We should strive not to be like this and instead be honest with everyone we meet regardless of our relationship with them or how they treat us. We should also be wary when dealing with such a person as they cannot be trusted due to their deceitful nature.
