The Power of Words

SUMMARY: Words, even those said without much thought, can have a great impact on one's life and afterlife.

Malik related to me from Abdullah ibn Dinar that Abu Salih as- Samman informed him that Abu Hurayra said, "Truly a man utters words to which he attaches no importance, and by them he falls into the fire of Jahannam, and truly a man utters words to which he attaches no importance, and by them Allah raises him into the Garden".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the power of words and how they can have a lasting impact on our lives and afterlife. It is important to be mindful of what we say because our words can lead us to either the fire of Jahannam or the Garden. Even if we don't think much about what we are saying, it still has an effect on us in this world and in the hereafter. We should strive to use our words for good by speaking kindly, truthfully, and with wisdom so that Allah may raise us into Jannah.
