EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains the definition of a sacrificial animal. According to Abdullah ibn Umar, a sacrificial animal is one that has been garlanded with flowers or decorations, branded with hot iron and stood with on Arafa. Arafa is an area near Makkah where Muslims gather for Hajj pilgrimage and stand in prayer for forgiveness from Allah. The hadith teaches us that when we sacrifice an animal for Allah's sake we should do it properly by decorating it and branding it as well as standing with it on Arafa. It also teaches us to be mindful of our actions when performing religious rituals and to take care in fulfilling them correctly according to Islamic teachings.
