This hadith is about how to properly sit during the tashahhud prayer. The tashahhud prayer is a part of salat, which is an obligatory Muslim ritual that involves reciting certain verses and prayers while facing Mecca. In this hadith, Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad showed people how to sit in the tashahhud by keeping his right foot vertical and laying his left foot down while sitting on his left haunch instead of his foot. Abdullah Ibn Abdullah Ibn Umar then related that this was also how his father used to do it. This hadith teaches us that we should follow the example of our elders when it comes to religious practices and rituals as they have more knowledge and experience than us.
