Praying Without Wudu

SUMMARY: Said ibn al-Musayyab prayed without doing wudu despite his nose bleeding.

Yahya related to me that Abd ar-Rahman ibn Harmala al-Aslami said, "I saw Said ibn al-Musayyab with his nose bleeding and blood poured out of it so that his fingers were all red from the blood coming out of his nose, and he prayed without doing wudu".

QUICK LESSONS:
Continue with prayers even in difficult circumstances
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of prayer and how it should be done even in difficult circumstances. Said ibn al-Musayyab was a pious man who was known for his devotion to prayer, and he demonstrated this by continuing to pray despite his nose bleeding. This shows us that we should not let any physical or mental difficulty stop us from fulfilling our religious obligations, such as prayer. We must remember that Allah is always watching over us and will reward us for our efforts in fulfilling His commands. Additionally, this hadith also teaches us the importance of cleanliness before prayer; although Said ibn al-Musayyab did not perform wudu due to his nosebleed, it is still recommended that one performs ablution before praying if possible.
