Praying Without Wudu

SUMMARY: Salim ibn Abdullah prayed without doing wudu despite having blood running from his nose.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abd ar Rahman ibn al-Mujabbar that he saw Salim ibn Abdullah with blood running from his nose so that his fingers were all coloured red. Then he rubbed it and prayed without doing wudu.

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray with intention and focus even when facing obstacles
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of prayer in Islam and how it should be done even if one does not have the ability to perform wudu. It is narrated that Salim ibn Abdullah was bleeding so much that his fingers were all coloured red but he still prayed without performing wudu. This shows us that prayer is an important part of our faith and should be done no matter what obstacles we face. Even if we are unable to perform wudu due to physical or medical reasons, we can still pray as long as we have the intention and focus on our prayers. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also said “The key to Paradise is prayer” which further emphasizes its importance in our lives.
