Musnad Ahmad 1365 (Book 5, Hadith 765) #34991
Allah's Justice & Kindness

SUMMARY: Allah is just and kind, and will not punish someone twice for the same sin if they have already been punished for it, nor will He take away a pardon that He has granted.

It was narrated that 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever commits a sin in this world and is punished for it, Allah is too just to repeat His punishment for His slave, And whoever commits a sin in this world and Allah conceals it for him and pardons him, Allah is too kind to retract any pardon that He has granted'.

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive to avoid committing sins in order to avoid punishment from God . Be grateful when God forgives you .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the justice and kindness of Allah. It tells us that if we commit a sin in this world, we may be punished for it by Allah. However, if we are forgiven by Him, then He will not take back His forgiveness or punish us again for the same sin. This teaches us to be grateful to Allah when He forgives us and to strive to avoid committing sins in the first place so as not to incur His punishment. Furthermore, it reminds us of how merciful and compassionate our Lord is; even when we make mistakes or do wrong things, He still shows mercy towards us by pardoning our sins instead of punishing them further.
