Musnad Ahmad 1364 (Book 5, Hadith 764) #34990
Prohibited Activities in Islam

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) cursed those who partake in activities such as usury, remarriage of a divorced woman to her first husband, and wailing for the deceased.

It was narrated from 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) that The Messenger of Allah cursed the one who consumes riba, the one who pays it, the two who witness it, the one who writes it down, the one who marries a woman and divorces her so that she becomes permissible for her first husband, and the one for whom that is done, the woman who does tattoos and the woman who has tattoos done, and the one who withholds zakah. And he forbade wailing (for the deceased).

QUICK LESSONS:
Obey Allah's commands

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught his followers that certain activities are prohibited in Islam. These include usury or riba which is the practice of lending money with interest; remarriage or talaq which is when a divorced woman marries her first husband again; wailing or lahana which is crying loudly for the deceased; and withholding zakat which is charity given to those in need. He also forbade these activities and warned against them. This hadith teaches us that we should stay away from these practices and instead focus on doing good deeds that will benefit ourselves and others around us.
