The Words of Forgiveness

SUMMARY: This hadith teaches us to recite certain words that will bring us forgiveness from Allah, even if we are already forgiven.

It was narrated that 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah (رضي الله عنه) said: 'Shall I not teach you some words which, if you say them you will be forgiven, even though you are already forgiven: There is no god but Allah, Most High, the Almighty; there is no god but Him, the most Forbearing the Most Generous; glory be to Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne; praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds".

Remembering God through reciting special phrases or prayers .

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad is teaching his companion Ali a few words that can be recited in order to gain forgiveness from Allah. These words include “There is no god but Allah, Most High, the Almighty; there is no god but Him, the most Forbearing the Most Generous; glory be to Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne; praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds”. By saying these words and praising and glorifying God in this way we can receive His mercy and forgiveness even if we have already been forgiven for our sins. This hadith reminds us how important it is to remember God and thank Him for His blessings by praising Him with these special words.
