The Greatness of Abu Bakr and Umar

SUMMARY: This hadith speaks of the greatness of Abu Bakr and Umar, and that Allah will judge matters as He wills.

It was narrated that 'Abd Khair said: 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) said, when he finished with the people of Basrah: The best of this ummah after its Prophet is Abu Bakr, and after Abu Bakr it is 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما), then we got involved in matters which Allah will judge as He wills.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَحْرٍ عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ خَيْرٍ، قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ لَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ إِنَّ خَيْرَ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ بَعْدَ نَبِيِّهَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَبَعْدَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عُمَرُ وَأَحْدَثْنَا أَحْدَاثًا يَصْنَعُ اللَّهُ فِيهَا مَا شَاءَ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the greatness of two companions of Prophet Muhammad, Abu Bakr and Umar. It is narrated by 'Abd Khair who heard it from Ali. They were both highly respected in the Muslim community for their wisdom and leadership qualities. The hadith also mentions that Allah will judge matters as He wills, which means that we should trust in His judgement even if we don't understand why something happened or why a certain decision was made. We should have faith in Allah's plan for us even when things don't go our way because He knows best what is good for us in the long run.
