QUICK LESSONS:
Follow moderation in life by avoiding unnecessary luxuries like silk and gold .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught his followers to stay away from certain luxuries, such as silk and gold. He said that these two items were forbidden for the males of his ummah, or community. This means that men should not use them in any way, whether it is wearing them or using them to decorate their homes. This hadith teaches us that we should not be too attached to worldly possessions and instead focus on our spiritual growth and development. We should also remember that Allah has given us all we need in this world, so there is no need to seek out unnecessary luxuries which can distract us from our faith.
