QUICK LESSONS:
Respect familial relationships and maintain respect between family members .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, states that it is not permissible for a woman to marry her paternal or maternal aunt. This prohibition applies regardless of whether the aunt is from the mother's side or father's side of the family. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this lesson in order to protect familial relationships and maintain respect between family members. He also wanted to ensure that there would be no confusion regarding inheritance rights and other matters related to marriage laws in Islam. By prohibiting marriage between close relatives, he was able to preserve the sanctity of family ties while also protecting individuals from any potential harm that could arise from such unions.
