QUICK LESSONS:
Respect your parents, be mindful of words & actions

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of respecting one’s parents and not taking their name in vain. It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that 'Umar ??? ???? ??? said he was with the Prophet on a campaign when he swore an oath by his father. A man called out from behind him not to swear by his father as it is forbidden in Islam. The Prophet then confirmed this statement and warned against swearing by one’s father or mother as it is considered a major sin in Islam. This hadith teaches us to respect our parents and not take their name lightly or use it for any purpose other than good deeds. We should also be mindful of our words and actions so that we do not commit any sins unknowingly or unintentionally.
