EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how Umar ibn al-Khattab, one of the companions of Prophet Muhammad, promised to divide any city that was conquered in the same way as the Prophet Muhammad divided Khaibar. The story of how Prophet Muhammad divided Khaibar is a famous one and serves as an example for how cities should be divided after they are captured. In this hadith, Umar ibn al-Khattab promises to follow this example if he lives until next year and a city is conquered. This shows us that it is important to be fair when dividing resources among people and not take more than our share or give less than what we should. It also teaches us that we should strive to follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet and try our best to emulate his actions whenever possible.
