Sunan Ibn Majah 4205 (Book 37, Hadith 106) #33561
Beware of Associating Others with Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) warned his nation against associating any other being with Allah, even if it is not in the form of worshiping idols or the sun and moon.

It was narrated from Shaddad bin Aws that the Messenger of Allah said: "The thing that I fear most for my nation is associating others with Allah. I do not say that they will worship the sun or the moon or idols, but deeds done for the sake of anyone other than Allah, and hidden desires".

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) warned his nation against associating any other being with Allah, even if it is not in the form of worshiping idols or the sun and moon. He was concerned that people would do deeds for someone else's sake instead of for Allah's sake, as well as have hidden desires that are contrary to what Allah has commanded us to do. This hadith emphasizes how important it is to stay true to our faith and only serve one God - Allah - without any distractions from worldly matters or hidden desires that could lead us astray from His path. It also serves as a reminder that we should be mindful of our actions and intentions at all times so we can remain on the right path and avoid committing shirk, which is a major sin in Islam.
