QUICK LESSONS:
Learn beneficial activities for faith and closeness with Allah .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith warns us against the dangers of learning about stars. It is narrated by Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah said, “Whoever learns about the stars, he learns a branch of magic; the more he learns of the former, the more he learns of the latter”. This means that if someone starts to learn about stars and astronomy, they may end up learning magic as well. The Prophet Muhammad was warning us against this because it is forbidden in Islam to practice any form of sorcery or witchcraft. We should be careful not to get involved in activities which are prohibited in Islam and instead focus on things which will benefit our faith and bring us closer to Allah.
