Lying on One's Stomach is Forbidden

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) warned against lying on one's stomach as it is the way people of Hell lie.

It was narrated that Abu Dharr said: "The Prophet passed by me and I was lying on my stomach. He nudged me with his foot and said: 'O Junaidib! This is how the people of Hell lie'.""
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُجْمِرِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ طِخْفَةَ الْغِفَارِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ مَرَّ بِيَ النَّبِيُّ ـ ـ وَأَنَا مُضْطَجِعٌ عَلَى بَطْنِي فَرَكَضَنِي بِرِجْلِهِ وَقَالَ ‏ "‏ يَا جُنَيْدِبُ إِنَّمَا هَذِهِ ضِجْعَةُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith was narrated by Abu Dharr and it speaks about how the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ passed by him while he was lying on his stomach. The Prophet ﷺ then nudged him with his foot and said "O Junaidib! This is how the people of Hell lie." This hadith serves as a warning to us not to lie on our stomachs as this is how the people of hell are punished. It also teaches us that we should be mindful of our actions and be aware that Allah SWT sees all that we do. We should strive to live our lives in accordance with His teachings so that we can attain His pleasure and mercy in this life and in the hereafter.
