The Prohibition of Intoxicating Drinks

SUMMARY: Intoxicating drinks are forbidden.

It was narrated from 'Aishah, narrating it from the Prophet : "Every drink that causes intoxication is unlawful".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، تَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ـ ـ قَالَ ‏ "‏ كُلُّ شَرَابٍ أَسْكَرَ فَهُوَ حَرَامٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of intoxicating drinks. It was narrated by 'Aishah who heard it from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. According to this hadith, any drink that causes intoxication is unlawful and forbidden in Islam. This includes alcohol and other intoxicants such as drugs or narcotics which can cause a person to become intoxicated or lose control of their senses and actions. The purpose of this prohibition is to protect people from harm and ensure that they remain in control of their faculties so that they can make wise decisions and act responsibly at all times.
