Prohibition of Intoxicants

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that all intoxicants are forbidden.

Salim bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar narrated that his father said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful.’"
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الذِّمَارِيُّ، سَمِعْتُ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ
