Sahih al-Bukhari 3424 (Book 60, Hadith 96) #3274
The Power of Saying "If Allah Will"

SUMMARY: The Prophet Solomon had the power to make seventy women pregnant with children who would fight for Allah's cause, but he did not say "If Allah will" and so only one woman became pregnant.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Solomon (the son of) David said, 'Tonight I will sleep with seventy ladies each of whom will conceive a child who will be a knight fighting for "Allah's Cause'. His companion said, 'If Allah will'. But Solomon did not say so; therefore none of those women got pregnant except one who gave birth to a half child". The Prophet further said, "If the Prophet Solomon had said it (ie 'If Allah will') he would have begotten children who would have fought in Allah's Cause". Shuaib and Ibn Abi Az-Zinad said, "Ninety (women) is more correct (than seventy).

QUICK LESSONS:
Remembering to put trust in God when making any statement or plan; Adding 'in sha'Allah' at the end; Fighting for the cause of God
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the power of saying “In sha’Allah” or “if Allah wills it” when making a statement. It is narrated by Abu Huraira that Prophet Solomon said he would sleep with seventy women and each of them would conceive a child who would be a knight fighting for the cause of Allah. His companion said “if Allah wills it”, but Prophet Solomon did not say so and thus none of those women got pregnant except one who gave birth to a half child. The Prophet Muhammad then said that if Prophet Solomon had said “if Allah wills it”, then all those women would have become pregnant and their children would have fought in the cause of God. This teaches us that we should always remember to put our trust in God when making any statement or plan because He is All Knowing and All Powerful. We should never forget to add “in sha’Allah” at the end as this shows our faith in Him and His plans for us.
