Sahih al-Bukhari 3425 (Book 60, Hadith 97) #3275
Praying Anywhere on Earth

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that wherever one is, they should perform their prayers when the time comes, as all of the earth is a place of worship.

Narrated Abu Dhaar: I said, "O Allah's Messenger ! Which mosque was built first?" He replied, "Al-Masjid-ul-Haram". I asked, "Which (was built) next?" He replied, "Al-Masjid-ul-Aqs-a (ie Jerusalem)". I asked, "What was the period in between them?" He replied, "Forty (years)". He then added, "Wherever the time for the prayer comes upon you, perform the prayer, for all the earth is a place of worshipping for you".

He said that all of the earth is a place of worship and so we can pray anywhere. This teaches us to always remember Allah and to take advantage of any opportunity to pray and thank Him for His blessings. We should also remember that Allah knows our intentions and will reward us for our efforts in worshipping Him.
