Cursing of Jews for Selling Forbidden Animal Fat

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) cursing the Jews for selling animal fat which was forbidden to them.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: Umar heard that Samurah had sold some wine, and he said: "May Allah ruin Samurah! Does he not know that the Messenger of Allah said: 'May Allah curse the Jews, for animal fat was forbidden to them, so they melted it down and sold it.’"
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ بَلَغَ عُمَرَ أَنَّ سَمُرَةَ، بَاعَ خَمْرًا فَقَالَ قَاتَلَ اللَّهُ سَمُرَةَ أَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْيَهُودَ حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الشُّحُومُ فَجَمَلُوهَا فَبَاعُوهَا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) disapproval of the Jews' actions. He cursed them for selling animal fat, which was forbidden to them according to their own religious laws. This hadith teaches us that it is important to follow our own religious laws and not break them, even if it means we can make a profit from doing so. It also teaches us that we should be respectful of other religions and not judge people based on their beliefs or practices.
