Supplying Water to Pilgrims in Makkah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) gave permission to Abbas bin 'Abdul-Muttalib to stay overnight in Makkah on the nights of Mina for the purpose of supplying water to the pilgrims.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "Abbas bin 'Abdul-Muttalib asked the Messenger of Allah for permission to stay overnight in Makkah on the nights of Mina for the purpose of supplying water to the pilgrims, and he gave him permission.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ اسْتَأْذَنَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ أَنْ يَبِيتَ بِمَكَّةَ أَيَّامَ مِنًى مِنْ أَجْلِ سِقَايَتِهِ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ
