Sunan Ibn Majah 3064 (Book 25, Hadith 183) #32418
The Prophet's Fear of Causing Difficulty for His Nation

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was saddened after entering the Ka'bah, as he feared that his actions may cause difficulty for his nation in the future.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allah went out delighted, then he came back to me sad. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, (why did) you go out happy and come back sad?’ He said: 'I entered the Ka’bah, and I wish that I had not done that, because I am afraid that I may have caused difficulty for my nation after I am gone.’"
