Performing Hajj on Behalf of Others

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised a man to perform Hajj on behalf of his relative who had not done so.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah heard a man saying: "Labaik 'an Shubrumah (Here I am (O Allah) on behalf of Shubrumah". The Messenger of Allah said: "Who is Shubrumah?" He said: "A relative of mine". He said: "Have you ever performed Hajj?" He said: "No". He said: "Then make this for yourself, then perform Hajj on behalf of Shubrumah".

This hadith highlights the importance of performing Hajj for those who are unable to do so themselves. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised a man to perform Hajj on behalf of his relative who had not done so. This shows that it is important for us to help our relatives in fulfilling their religious obligations even if they are unable to do it themselves. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us the importance of being mindful and aware when making supplications or prayers as we should be specific about what we are asking for and whom we are asking for it on behalf of.
