Sunan Ibn Majah 2904 (Book 25, Hadith 23) #32258
Performing Hajj on Behalf of Deceased Parents

SUMMARY: It is permissible to perform Hajj on behalf of a deceased parent, as it will not add any bad deeds to their record.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "A man came to the Prophet and said: 'Shall I perform Hajj on behalf of my father?’ He said: 'Yes, perform Hajj on behalf of your father, for if you cannot add any good to his record (at least) you will not add anything bad.’"
