Obeying Leaders Despite Differences

SUMMARY: Obey your leader, even if they are not of the same race or have a physical appearance that is different from yours.

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah said: "Listen and obey, even if the one appointed over you is an Ethiopian slave with a head like a raisin".

QUICK LESSONS:
Listen and obey one's appointed leader despite differences in race or physical appearance .
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of obedience and respect for leaders, regardless of their race or physical appearance. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was teaching his followers to be accepting and respectful towards all people, no matter how different they may seem. He used the example of an Ethiopian slave with a head like a raisin to illustrate this point; he wanted his followers to understand that everyone should be treated with kindness and respect, regardless of their background or physical features. This hadith also teaches us about leadership; it encourages us to follow our leaders even if we don't agree with them because it is important for society to have order and structure in order for it to function properly.
