Sunan Ibn Majah 2861 (Book 24, Hadith 109) #32215
Obeying Authority According to Allah's Teachings

SUMMARY: Obeying those in authority is important, even if they are not perfect, as long as they lead according to the teachings of Allah.

It was narrated from Umm Husain that she heard the Messenger of Allah say: "Even if the one appointed over you is a mutilated Ethiopian slave whose nose and ears have been cut off, listen to him and obey, so long as he leads you according to the Book of Allah".

QUICK LESSONS:
Listen to your leaders and obey their instructions unless it goes against what is written in the Quran. Respect your elders regardless of their flaws or weaknesses.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that it is important to obey those in authority, even if they are not perfect. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that we should listen and obey our leaders so long as they lead us according to the teachings of the Quran. This means that we should respect and follow their instructions unless it goes against what is written in the Quran. We must remember that obedience and respect for authority figures is a part of our faith and an essential part of being a good Muslim. It also teaches us about humility; no matter how powerful or influential someone may be, we must always remember that everyone has flaws and weaknesses.
