Stealing from War Spoils is Punishable

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ warned that a man who had stolen from the spoils of war was in Hell.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said: "There was a man called Kirkah in charge of the goods of the Prophet , who died. The Prophet said: 'He is in Hell.’ They went and looked, and found him wearing a garment or a cloak that he had stolen from the spoils of war".

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect other people's property, be honest and accountable for your actions .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us that stealing is a serious crime and it will be punished. It was narrated by Abdullah bin 'Amr that there was a man called Kirkah who was in charge of the goods of the Prophet. When he died, the Prophet said that he was in Hell because he had stolen something from the spoils of war. This shows us how important it is to not steal and to respect other people's property, even if it comes from war spoils. We should also remember that Allah knows everything we do and He will punish us for our wrongdoings if we don't repent for them.
