Declaring the Area Between Two Mountains a Sanctuary

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) declared the area between two mountains in Medina a sanctuary.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: When the mountain of Uhud came in the sight of Allah's Messenger he said".This is a mountain that loves us and is loved by us. O Allah! Abraham made Mecca a sanctuary, and I make (the area) in between these two mountains (of Medina) a sanctuary".

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect & Protect Sacred Places

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik tells us that when the mountain of Uhud came into view of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he declared the area between two mountains in Medina a sanctuary. This was done to honor Abraham's declaration of Mecca as a sanctuary and to protect this sacred land from any harm or destruction. This hadith teaches us that we should respect and protect our sacred places and not cause any harm or destruction to them. It also teaches us that we should follow in Abraham's footsteps and strive to make our own communities sanctuaries for peace, love, and harmony.
