EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of offering prayers in time. It was narrated by Abu Dhar, who asked Prophet Muhammad ﷺ which mosque was built first on earth. He replied that it was Al-Masjid-ul-Haram in Mecca, and then Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem after a period of forty years. The Prophet ﷺ then said that wherever one is when prayer time comes, they should offer their prayer there as it is best to do so. This hadith teaches us to be punctual with our prayers and not to delay them as Allah has commanded us to pray at specific times throughout the day. It also reminds us of the significance of two important mosques - Al-Masjid al Haram and Al Aqsa - which are both holy places for Muslims around the world.
