Treat your slaves with respect and kindness; Do not take advantage of them just because they are your slaves; Do not kill or hurt your slaves; Follow justice and equality when dealing with your slaves.

This hadith is about the punishment for killing or mutilating slaves. It was narrated by Samurah bin Jundab that the Messenger of Allah said, “Whoever kills his slave, we will kill him, and whoever mutilates his slave we will mutilate him.” This hadith teaches us that it is wrong to kill or hurt a slave as it is considered a crime and one who does so will be punished in return. We should treat our slaves with respect and kindness as they are also human beings like us. We should not take advantage of them just because they are our slaves.
