Caring for Lost Animals

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned that if a Muslim neglects to take care of their lost animal, they may face the consequences in the afterlife.

It was narrated from Mutarrif bin 'Abdullah bin Shikhkhir that his father said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'The lost animal of the Muslim may lead to the burning flame of Hell'. "
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرَقُ النَّارِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us that we must take responsibility for our actions and possessions, even if it is something as small as a lost animal. He warned us that if we do not take care of our animals, then we may face the consequences in the afterlife. This hadith teaches us to be mindful of our possessions and to always strive to do what is right and just. We should not neglect any part of our lives or responsibilities, no matter how small they may seem.
