Keep agreements and contracts even after they have been made

This hadith speaks of a practice that Mu'adh bin Jabl was doing during the time of the Prophet Muhammad, Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman. He would lease out land in return for one third or one fourth of its yield. This practice continued until today, showing that it is an accepted form of agreement between two parties.
