QUICK LESSONS:
Keep agreements and contracts even after they have been made

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of a practice that Mu'adh bin Jabl was doing during the time of the Prophet Muhammad, Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman. He would lease out land in return for one third or one fourth of its yield. This practice continued until today, showing that it is an accepted form of agreement between two parties. It also shows that it is important to keep agreements and contracts even after they have been made, as this hadith shows us how Mu'adh kept his agreement even after many years had passed. The values taught by this hadith are honesty, integrity and keeping promises.
