The Benefits of Lending Money

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) encouraged people to lend money to each other instead of leasing out land.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that he heard that people were leasing out land more. He said: "Subhan-Allah, the Messenger of Allah said: 'Why does not one of you lend it to his brother?' But he did not forbid leasing it out'. "

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of lending money instead of leasing out land. It was narrated by Ibn 'Abbas that he heard people were leasing out land more often than not. He then said, "Subhan-Allah, the Messenger of Allah said, 'Why does not one of you lend it to his brother?' But he did not forbid leasing it out." This hadith teaches us that we should help our brothers and sisters in need by lending them money if they require it rather than making a profit off them through leasing. It also encourages us to be generous and kind towards others and promote brotherhood among ourselves. Furthermore, this hadith also shows us that we should always think twice before taking any action as even though the Prophet Muhammad did not forbid people from leasing their lands, he still encouraged them to lend money instead as a sign of kindness and generosity towards their fellow brothers and sisters in faith.
