Repaying with Excellence

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that the best people are those who are best in repaying.

Sa'eed bin Hani' said: "I heard 'Irbad bin Sariyah say: 'I was with the Prophet and a Bedouin said: "Pay me back for my young camel, and he gave him an older (ie, better) camel". He said: 'O Messenger of Allah! It is older (ie, better) than my camel'. The Messenger of Allah said: 'The best of people are those who are best in repaying"'.

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive to repay others with excellence and generosity. Be content with what you receive in return for your efforts.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that the best of people are those who repay others with excellence. The Prophet Muhammad's example of giving a better camel to the Bedouin is an example of how we should strive to repay others with excellence, even if it means going above and beyond what is expected. We should always strive to be generous and kind when repaying someone, as this will bring us closer to Allah and make us among the best of people. Additionally, this hadith also teaches us about being content with what we receive in return for our efforts; even though the Bedouin was expecting a younger camel, he was still content when he received an older one instead.
