Giving Priority to the First Buyer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that when selling something to two people, the first person should be given priority.

It was narrated from 'Uqbah bin 'Amir or Samurah bin Jundab that the Messenger of Allah said: "Any man who sells to two men, it is for the one who was first".1

QUICK LESSONS:
Give priority to the buyer who expressed interest first when selling something .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us an important lesson about fairness and justice in transactions. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that when selling something to two people, the first person should be given priority. This means that if a seller has multiple buyers for one item, they should give it to the buyer who expressed interest first. This is a way of showing respect and fairness towards all parties involved in a transaction. It also encourages honesty and trustworthiness between buyers and sellers as it ensures that no one is taken advantage of or treated unfairly during a transaction. Furthermore, this hadith teaches us about being mindful of our actions and how they can affect others; even small decisions like who we choose to sell an item too can have far-reaching consequences on those involved in the transaction.
