EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the expiation for fasting. It was narrated by Ibn Abbas that the Prophet Muhammad offered expiation of a Sa' of dates, which is equivalent to four kilograms, and he enjoined the people to do likewise. For those who cannot afford it, they can give half a Sa' of wheat instead as an alternative form of expiation. This hadith teaches us that we should be generous in our worship and strive to fulfill our obligations even if we are not able to do so in full capacity. We should also be mindful that there are alternatives available for those who may not have enough resources or means at their disposal.
